Pakistani skipper Babar Azam visited Pakistan Shaheens ahead of the Emerging Asia Cup final on Saturday in Colombo.

Babar, 28, was seen talking with the players and giving them a boost of much-needed confidence as the young guns are gearing up for the final against India A.

Players like Mohammad Haris, Saim Ayub, Shahnawaz Dahani and others were sitting and listening to the skipper.

Pakistan Shaheens have shown great discipline in the tournament, they have lost only one out of four games.

After Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah's visit to the Pakistan A team camp to celebrate Shaheen's victory yesterday, Babar's visit will surely be a great confidence booster for the youngsters.

Earlier, Pakistan A defeated Sri Lanka A by 60 runs in the first semi-final and made their way to the final on Friday (July 21).

While chasing a target of 323 runs, the home side were bowled out for 262 in 45.4 overs.

Pacer Arshad Iqbal was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan after claiming figures of 5-37.

Meanwhile, for Pakistan in batting, Omair Bin Yousuf and captain Haris powered Pakistan A to 322.

Omair scored 88 runs in 79 balls with the help of 10 fours and a six. Meanwhile, Haris played a brisk knock of 52 runs in 43 balls which included five fours.

Meanwhile, in the second semi-final, India A defeated Bangladesh A by 51 runs as they bowled the latter out for 160 runs in 34.2 overs.

Nishant Sindhu claimed five wickets for 20 runs in eight overs and was the pick of the bowlers for the winning side.

It has to be seen what kind of impact Azam’s pep talk will have on the team as the previous meeting between the arch-rivals ended in a one-sided victory for India A.

Pakistan lost to India by eight wickets in their group match. Sai Sudharsan scored a magnificent century to propel India A to an eight-wicket victory over Pakistan A.

Set to chase 206 runs in 50 overs, India got the massive backing of their opener Sudharsan who remained not out for 104 runs laced with 10 boundaries and three maximums.

Nikin Jose scored 53 runs and also partnered strongly with Sudharsan for a match-winning 99-run partnership.

Indian skipper Yash Dhull managed to score winning runs as he remained not out for 21 runs including two boundaries and a six.

For Pakistan A, Mubasir Khan and Mehran Mumtaz took a wicket each.
